Miami-Dade County Hosting Sea Level Rise Workshops

Local experts will be available at the workshops to answer questions and to guide small group conversations to learn more about sea level rise in the county and to devise strategies to address anticipated impacts.

Miami-Dade County's Office of Resilience is seeking public input as part of a strategy to lessen damage from sea level rise. To that end, the county will host a series of public workshops where members of the public will have the opportunity to express their views concerning the social, environmental, and economic impacts of sea level rise.

The first workshop dates are April 10, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Mc Donald Senior Center in North Miami Beach and April 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Deering Estate in Palmetto Bay coinciding with Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day.

Local experts will be available at the workshops to answer questions and to guide small group conversations to learn more about sea level rise in the county and to devise strategies to address anticipated impacts. Those unable to attend one of the workshops can provide ideas on how to address sea level rise by taking an online survey that is available in English, Creole, and Spanish.
